A Canadian actress, comedian, and singer-songwriter by the name of Jamillah Ross.

She received her training at The Second City in Toronto and has appeared on stage, in films, on television, and in improv groups. She was a member of the cast of Show Stopping Number, winner of the best improvisational troupe CCA.

The Second City comedy club in Toronto hired Ross as a server before he joined the touring company to perform in The Ice Cream Man Cometh and The Puck Stops Here. She returned to Toronto in May 2003 and appeared in the Armaget-It-On production of The Second City, which was nominated for a Canadian Comedy Award (CCA). Later, Ross created and performed in three back-to-back lead roles on the company’s main stage.

Ross performed as Sour Kangaroo in a Seussical production at the Lorraine Kimsa Theatre for Young People in 2006. She performed in Show Stopping Number: The Improvised Musical the following year, which took home the CCA for best improv troupe. She received two CCA nominations for the best female improviser. Later, Ross performed with the improv group The Dandies. Ross participated in the improvised hidden-camera TV productions Howie Do It, Fool Canada, and Scare Tactics. She also had minor roles in Toronto-based scripted television series like Killjoys, Flashpoint, Lost Girl, Rookie Blue, and Kim’s Convenience. Additionally, she acted in the full-length movies Picture Day and Pay the Ghost.
